Guide to Calgary Pump Tracks and Bike Skill Parks

Calgary is known for its extensive network of cycle network and inner-city mountain biking trails. The city's commitment to cycling infrastructure ensures that riders of all levels can explore, and now more than ever Calgarians are lucky to have a growing network of places to ride bikes, including some new world-class pump tracks!

These pump tracks are a testament to the city's dedication to providing more recreational activities and they are an ideal space to work on honing riding skills, whether you're into BMX, mountain biking, or just want to work on biking overall. These tracks are not only fun but also serve as a great way for riders to build confidence and bike-handling skills.

For those who are new to the idea of a pump track. They are specially designed circuits of a continuous loop with banked turns, rollers, and jumps that are sculpted to offer riders of all ages and skill levels the opportunity for growth.

West Confederation Park Pump Track

The newest addition to our pump track system, West Confederation Park has two separate tracks, an intermediate 90-meter section with 5 berms, and an advanced 145-meter long track that also has 5 berms. There is a good progression from the banks in the corners of the intermediate section to the steeper banks on the advanced track.

The park is located on the outskirts of the West side of Confederation Park, just off 19th Street NW with ample street parking.

Built by Velosolutions, in partnership between The Parks Foundation and The City of Calgary, and partially funded through PrairiesCan.

South Glenmore Park Pump Track

A scenic pump tracks close to the banks of the Glenmore Reservoir. This pump track is larger in size and has two designated tracks connected to each other. The first is a smaller, 110m long section that is more kid and beginner-friendly, with smaller berms and rollers. The second section is 204m long with larger features and plenty of room

The park is nestled between the Glenmore Reservoir and 90th Avenue SW with the closest parking lot at 3520 90 Ave SW.

A collaborative effort between the Parks Foundation, CMBA, and The City of Calgary. The track was built by the company Velosolutions.

Fairview Pump Track

Calgary’s first asphalt pump track. It was completed in the summer of 2020. Although a bit smaller in size, there's a good mix of features. Beginner-friendly, as the size is very manageable. There are a couple of small table tops that are great for manual and jump progression.

There is no designated parking beside the pump track, and you are not able to park in the adjacent alley. It's recommended to find parking on a nearby street and ride your bike over.

The build effort was made possible by the Fairview Community Association and built by Bike Track.

Inglewood Pump Track

Located just off the river path in the South East inner-city neighborhood of Inglewood, the park includes two custom-designed asphalt tracks for varying skill levels; one for beginners and the other for more intermediate riders.

Built in partnership with The City of Calgary and the Parks Foundation, the pump track project also received funding from the provincial Municipal Stimulus Program (MSP).

Montgomery Bike Skills Park

The park includes some fun wooden built features (including a teeter), some flow trails and a more recently paved pump track. There's a great mix of things to ride and the community association has done a great job.

Silver Springs Pump Track

Located in the NW community of Silver Springs, there are two small oval tracks with rollers and small wooden features.

The pump track is a great addition for kids, and beginner cyclists, located next to their Community Centre and outdoor rink.

The track was built and is maintained by volunteers at the Silver Springs Community Association.

Livingston Pump Track

There is a smaller-sized dirt pump track located in the community of Livingston in the far northwest of Calgary.

There is a beginner-level track that is great for new riders and a more advanced side that includes some deeper rollers and more berms.

You'll find this pump track just off 144th Ave NE, built by the Livingston community.

Fish Creek Bike Skills Park

Close to the already extensive network of trails that snake around Fishcreek Park, this small skills park features a beginner dirt pump track loop, an intermediate pump track, and a single-track skills loop for easy to intermediate-level riders.

The park was built and is maintained by the Calgary Mountain Bike Alliance with grants from Alberta Blue Cross, and Calgary Foundation, plus support from Pinkbike, MEC, and other local construction firms.

Pump Tracks Near Calgary

Here are a few towns located close to Calgary that also have some great pump tracks to check out!

High River Pump Track

Located about an hour south of Calgary, this pump track was an exciting project that brought the town of High River together. The track is 160m in total and features 8 berms. It's a fun and flowy build, beginner to intermediate difficulty.

Located next to the town's spray park, and in between a playground.

Funded by a community initiative that saw donations from Cargill, The Town of High River, Parks Foundation, and The Last of Us (TV show). The track was built by Velosolutions.

Okotoks Pump Track

The recently completed pump track is located at Bill Robertson Park in Okotoks, accessible by its primary bicycle pathway system.

There is a larger intermediate-level as well as a small beginner-level section, with both sides completely paved. There is a nice progression in the banks and size of rollers.

The project was organized by the Town of Okotoks and completed in the summer of 2023.

Black Diamond Pump Track

There is a dirt pump track located in the small town of Black Diamond, which is about an hour southwest of Calgary. There is plenty to ride as there is a beginner section, and a fun, flowy intermediate side with some good-sized rollers.

The track is located next to the Oilfields Regional Arena.

The project was initiated by the town and was funded through donations from several local businesses, and built by Bike Track.
